연구분야

유럽정치, 정치이론, 비교정치

주요하게는 자본주의와 민주주의의 다양한 결합 방식, 특히 경제적으로 효율적이면서 동시에 심화된 민주주의 사회의 모델을 탐색하는 데 관심을 갖고 있으며 주요 선진 자본주의 국가들을 대상으로 비교의 관점에서 연구를 진행해 왔음. 독일과 미국에 이어 유럽 각국의 정치를 비교연구하였고, 최근에는 비교적 시각에서 한국정치경제 모델과 국민국가의 수립 변화를 분석하고 있음
